“Hotel Ambra is a charming and pleasant hotel with friendly staff and an excellent location. I was a bit put off by the surrounding area at first (it looked a bit shabby), but soon realised it's actually a safe area next to a main road. There's a 24-7 mini market directly opposite the hotel, and two supermarkets at the Octogon end of the road. Deak Ter Metro Station is at the other end of the road, within walking distance. The Opera House is also very close. Breakfast is simple but sufficient, and I appreciated having honey with my bread. The breakfast area stays open all day, so after a long walk you can relax there in the evening with chips and cold lemon water – a nice thought for guests. I booked a room with extra space, so it was quite large. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Wi-Fi requires a password that you need to ask the staff for, but the connection is excellent – the best I had during my trip in Hungary. A really good hotel I may return to.”
